Despite all the projects and exam stress for the past few days, I managed to find myself indulging in loads of fun yesterday....

We celebrated dear jeremy's 22nd "Da shou" yesterday at Changing Appetites at Marina Square. Met Ryan, David & Jin early to get him his birthday present. We bought him a pair of jeans and a T-shirt labelling "GREAT".. (Too bad no pics). We then proceed to changing appetites to chop seats as the person said that we cannot make any reservations on Friday evenings. As it was Friday evening, traffic was quite terrible but I'm glad everyone tried their best to rush down from wherever they are and there's a total of 10 of us, incl Birthday boy.. (Ryan, David, Jin, Huey Sun, Jessica, Jianyi, Carynl, Angeline, Jeremy & Me).. Thank you guys for coming down and I think I shall let pictures explain yesterday's celebration...

I hate attending 830 lectures cos I would have to get out of my comfortable bed early. But nevertheless, coming to sch early in the morning and chatting with frens make it less painful for me. Hence, this morning, by coincidence, Jeremy arrived the same time as me and we walked to LT1A together. Arriving there, we saw huey sun and Jessica so we sat beside them and started chatting. Recalling that I bought my "fav" Style Magazine, sort of for the cover page only, I asked my sister to take a photo of me and Nat... (So sad, Nat is not in sg now, busy filming in Msia...Hope u return soon k!)

However, some people may not have the same expression as me.... In fact, they were......

I hate doing accounting tutorials... I either end up making myself frustrated or I just feel like slapping myself... So I decided to use the time now to make a impromptu entry..

I was browsing thru facebook today and I really must admit that I suck at using facebook.. All those applications, games, photos, everything... I really duno how to use them at all. Other ppl's are so much better than mine with folders here and there, pictures here and there and even comments posted everywhere. Mine is just plain and empty. And anyone know how to change the display name in facebook.. I can't seem to change mine.. Anyway, as I was browsing through wad others have uploaded, I came across 1 pic.... Something that I really have gotten.. It took place so long ago (1 year plus) that I forgot there is this pic that I took...................................

Yes.... For those who know me, this is my ex-boss, Head NSSC. Think he's abit drunk that day. (After acting as Beh Yong Jun) And for those who don't know, he initiated this photo, not ME.. Hahaha... He say take this photo to show them who your boss is...

Ya for those who think I write fantastic emails with good paragraphing, clear instructions, good formality, maybe even courteous, he's the one who gave me the pressure to draft such mails. My 2 years in army, he made me write emails to senior commanders and high ranking officers that I would say it is an "art" to master because prior to that, I can only write short sentences on MSN. Haha.. Emails to me are cold and abit not warm.. But in the business world, business writing is so important and it often serves as a form of proof against any complain or any service request. As a service provider, drafting emails and learning telephone ettiquette is so important. Hence, if you think my presentation skills or english is bad now, trust me, you wouldn't even want to talk to me before I enlisted. I totally will freak out if I'm told to make presentations. It is also HIM who exposed me to formal writing and minutes writing. Though I still prefer to SMS or make sweet phone calls to people, but life is still about keeping ur ass safe. So frens dun blame me, is a job hazard to write formal emails and I'm not that serious after all during my day to day conversations with you all, rite?

But I really must thank him for giving me 10023489853 chances in army and I'm really quite a changed person today. Dexter, I'm not his "Mxxxxxxx".... I'm just a normal NSF in office except that I converted to DXO in the later stage of my stay there. After I made this entry, hopefully, you guys dun bug me for NS matters help... Haha... Joking...

But there are other factors that made army very interesting and meaningful... I would say the people there makes a lot of difference. And one source of motivation to go to work is.............

But without this asshole,

1) I would have no one and be quite lost at the beginning stage of my army life in NSSC
2) I would have no one to cover my ass when I'm late for events
3) I would have no one to rely on during NSSC anniversary
4) I would have no one to fireman lift me to keep me awake and giddy and naseous when faced with the hugh workload of deferment cases
5) I would have no one to hit my arm until it became blue-black for one whole week
6) I would have no one to accompany me home when no east siders travel back home with me
7) I would have no one to cover my work during my peak deferment periods
8) I would have no one to order drinks for me during meals
9) I would have no one to talk to when I needed an avenue to vent my frustration
10) I would have no one to quarrel with me

So seems like is fated... Asshole appears in NTU , taking the same course as me. Will I meet another "asshole" in NTU? Or I will continue to meet this asshole and write another interesting chapter of my life?

Wadever it is, I just want to say "THANK YOU"

I know I haven't been blogging for some time. So I shall make this entry a long one... Before I begin on the main topic of this entry, I would like to say that I really prefer to work than study. Studying is so much more stressful than working and the deadlines to meet, the tests to concur and the projects to execute, is really making my life miserable. I worked so hard in order to get into NTU, thinking that life would be better here but instead life is still about competition, results and managing relationships at a much more complex level. I thought it would be really hard to make friends in uni, but I was wrong. In fact, friends in uni are all around you. When you do 1 project, u meet new people... Your friends meet other members, intro them to you and we are become a group of friends. Though at times, I feel that I'm not as smart as them, not as hardworking as them, not as eloquent as them, not as driven as them, but I never lose a bit of fun time that I had when playing with them. It is the little stuff, mini outings that make stressful university life interesting and colourful. I never regretted not staying in hall and making long journeys to sch everyday. With fun people, the journey becomes less tiring, shorter and sometimes more interesting.......

Just before CNY this year, David enrolled Jianyi in the "HEROES" competition organised by mediacorp. For those who don't know who Jianyi is, he is one of my friends in NTU that looks like the guy in HEROES. Really look alike. True enough, our prediction was right. They won the contest and was entitled to a goodie bag to be collected from Mediacorp. So immediately after the stupid boring accounting lecture at 830am, we went down to Mediacorp to collect the goodie bag. Mediacorp is a place that is rather familiar to me, but to them it would be a place that they go once in a bluemoon. Brought them around mediacorp, radio gate, TV gate, hoping to see some artistes but there were none appearing at noon time. So instead to make the trip worthwhile, we took photos to acknowledge that indeed we've been to Mediacorp. Haha..

The trip to mediacorp was quite worthwhile as I brought them to Balestier to taste the famous Bak Kut Teh for lunch. Its really very nice, I love it since my army days. The trip to Balestier brought us another bonus, which I shall not mention what bonus is it here, BUT it is really some thing that is a BIG bonus for us this CNY.

This sem, timetable seems to be good and bad for me. Good being, its my 3 days week semester. Bad being, lectures often occur at the unearthly timing and the content of this sem is ultra dry, tough and rubbish to a certain extent. Biz Law may seem interesting to many, but sometimes the lectures can really be boring. Hence, instead of listening to long winded lawyers lecturing on complex contract law topics, I decide to cam-whore a little during the lecture.
